Client and family-centred services to support your child’s development and abilities.
We work with a wide range of conditions and issues including autism, attention deficit hyperactivity, gross & fine motor development, handwriting, emotional regulation, sensory processing challenges, toileting issues and more.
We provide outreach based in schools, kindergarten, child care and home, as well as Telehealth sessions.
ASSESSMENTS
Assessments vary depending on the child's age, their individual needs, as well as parent/carer concerns. Standardised assessments are available including Movement ABC-2 (M-ABC2), Beery Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual Motor Integration 6th Edition (Beery VMI) and Sensory Profile™ 2.
Kids Thrive Therapy can also provide occupational therapy assessments for schools and NDIS.
GOAL DIRECTED THERAPY
Therapy is designed according to your child’s individual needs. Careful consideration is also given to what works best for your family. High value is placed on ensuring therapy is achievable, fun and setting realistic expectations. We cater to the goals of the individual and their family in the following areas:

Gross motor and mobility skills (core strength, balance, and coordination)

Fine motor skills (grasp and release of objects, strength, dexterity, and using 2 hands together)

Handwriting (letter formation, orientation to line, speed, legibility, written expression)

Self-care skills (dressing, managing shoes and socks, personal hygiene, toileting)

Visual motor skills (knowing where limbs are in space, eye-hand coordination)

Cognitive and perceptual skills (visual memory, problem solving, visual sequencing)

Executive functioning skills (planning, self-organisation, working memory)

Sensory processing (increased or decreased sensitivity to auditory, visual, tactile stimuli)

Self-regulation (managing behaviour and emotions in different environments)

Social-emotional skills (separating from parent, playing appropriately with siblings / peers)

Play Skills (imaginary or pretend play, engaging in new play sequences)
REPORTS & LETTERS
Written reports available upon request, or as required for funding including functional capacity assessment (FCA) and NDIS progress reports.
Kids Thrive Therapy can provide occupational therapy reports for school, including to support the scoring an Educational Needs Questionnaire.
LOCATIONS
Service is outreach based in schools, kindergarten and home supporting children to achieve functional goals.
Community and Telehealth services available on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Melbourne's Inner North.
